Cannot connect the phone entry error 720?? what does this mean PLEASE HELP?

NO, EVERYTIME I TRY TO GO INTO MY E-MAIL TIHS POPS UP SAYING I'M NOT CONNECT TO A INTERNET??? AND I AM... IT HAS THE #720 ERROR I DON'T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT COMPUTERS BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DELETE THIS ERROR I'M 71YR. OLD NOT COMPUTER SMART.. please help me

The error number is different for different programs - knowing the program would help.  But is that computer connected to the internet when you get the error?  For instance, can you see Yahoo on your browser when your email program has that error?  Then you're on line.  It sounds as if you might have picked up a virus or some other malware.  (BTW, you're not much older than I am, and I earn my living [yeah, still working] programming these things.)

if you were not connected to the internet, you would not be able to be on line and ask and answer  questions

it sounds like something is wrong with your email

you may have to ask some one you know to try and sort it out for you

this error is a ppp error (point-to-point protocol) it is happening because the information your computer is sending isnt being understood by the server on the other end (in this case your internet providers server) i suggest you try changing your protocol to tcp/ip protocol.

i know this may sound very confusing, especially if your not computer savvy.... its really very simple.

your computer is speaking a language to the server at the other end of the internet. the other server dosent understand the language, so you need to make your comoputer speak another language that the other server does understand :).

what program your computer uses to connect to the internet will determen how you change the language (ppp). it is just a case of checking a few boxes in a program and isnt very hard, but you might want to get someone to help you if you dont know what you are doing!
