Cannot connect to Xbox Live?

Question

I use the internet cable thats included with the system and i connect it to my router...I have tried the Connection test and it failed but i don't know the IP address stuff and I have no idea what to do. The only other device that is connected wireless to my router is my laptop but it always used to work.

Check Xbox.com/setup<--(not sure about the site) or just do xbox.com and find your way to the connections, try connecting the modem or router to the wall and see if that helps, OR try going to the control panel and go to network options, then go to network connections, right click on local area network, then do properties, then go through the tabs, and once it says, SHARE the internet, (not totally sure what it says but i know where to go, then you should be set).
