One, I have not finished my FAFSA, and is it too late to file for this next school year?

Two, I cannot get my parent's income information from them is there any other way to get this information publicly?

I appreciate all the help.

  1. It depends on when you plan to enter school.  If you can't get your parents income, file as independant.  or you can ask your parents for the information.

  2. Hi-

It is not too late to file.  The federal deadline is June 30,2009.  (State deadlines are different.)  However unless you are:  over 24; married; pay 50% support for a child; can claim a dependent; or are in the active military, you are not considered .independent by federal guidelines for college aid.  You must be able to say "yes" to one of those things.

You need your parents' info if you are dependent; there is no way around it for federal and/or state aid.  There is no way to get this information except through your parents.

Perhaps you can explain to them how vital it is.  Here is the FAFSA website:  http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

  3. It is not to late to file the FAFSA.  Why can't you get your parent's information?  Will they just not provide it?  There is no way to get your parent's information other than from them.  If there is some other reason (like they are out of the picture) then talk to a counselor in the aid office at your college for assistance.
