Cannot get Y! messenger to connect on BB Pearl?

Just bought BB Pearl and Y! messenger is already installed, when I try to connect I get as far as 80% then I get an error saying I cannot connect and to check my settings. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Plz go to mobile.yahoo.com and see the list of compitable sets, i think that BB pearl is not compitable with Yahoo mobile. $
