Try other chatrooms and see if they work.  Could just be yahoo rooms

yahoo has got a virus and many applications are not working

When you say yahoo chat rooms do you mean lycos ?  If so don't use yahoo for access just type in Lycos and it's allows you in on another server.

Or find out if your behind a firewall .

internet is too slow, or you ar behind a fire wall. try un installing messmnger and reinstalling, and try that, if not it might me the internet connection. also dis able any firewalls you may hae.
