Cannot scan a photo to my computer. When trying to scan a photo and press scan menu and scroll

Question

When trying to scan a photo and press scan menu and scroll down to "scan to computer" an error message displays, ie "No Scan Options" refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. What does this mean and what should I do? I've checked the Basics Guide and cannot find an answer.
