say I use brain control on one of my opponents monsters and id rather not give it back so I'd rather get rid of it by sacraficing it for a level 4 monster. Can I do that and if is it legal?

  1. Unless the Level 4 monster in question requires some sort of tribute, such as Panther Warrior or The Unfriendly Amazon then no, the monster will return to your opponent's side of the field.

Tributes needed to summon a monster, depending on Level are as follows.:

1-4: No tributes unless stated so on the card

5-6: 1 tribute unless stated so on the card

7 and above: 2 tributes unless stated so on the card

  2. no

five and six star monsters one tribute

    7 and up two.

some cards require three just depends on what the card says.

  3. No you can't. Sorry to say you must still follow the same rules as if the monster is your own.

    5 Star= 1 Monster

    6 Star= 1 Monster

    7 Star= 2 Monsters

    8 Star= 2 Monsters

9 Star and up= 3 and it depends on what the cards say and if so it may be 2 monster sacrifice.

  4. No, you can not randomly Tribute a monster for another monster that has 4 or less stars. I know you know this, but you can only tribute a monster to Tribute Summon a monster with Five or more stars, unless designated other wise by a card effect.

In short, no, your move is illegal.
