Canoe Vest?

Im going canoeing soon and I needed a vest, I've found out all the right measurements, and its USCG approved, and it comes in my size. So my question is, is this vest alright.

It looks good but I would suggest a 'more visible color'. Question: Does it have crotch straps? Can you try it on?
