My sister and I want to go on a 3 or 4 day trip to somewhere in Northern Ontario (Muskoka or Algonquin area?)
I am the 'outdoorsy' type but my sister isn't so much, so we want somewhere where we can have some nature fun, but not completely "in the middle of nowhere".
We were thinking of being near some place where there is canoeing available, but I'm not sure what the best way to do that is. I've only been canoeing twice, and she once, so we're not experts. Also, neither of us drives so we'd have to take a Greyhound bus to wherever we were going to stay.
Does anyone know of somewhere that has a place with canoeing available (I guess they'd have to be guided if we're inexperienced? or at least on a very gentle lake or river or something?) as well as other fun things to do? (historic landmarks or tours, or national parks or bird sanctuaries or anything of the sort)
We also don't have a lot of money so keep that in mind when suggesting options!
