Canon Camera battery compatibility CONFUSED?

Question

I have a Canon Powershot SD 600 that uses a Lithium-ion Battery NB-4L. I been checking one of the newer models SD 770 that uses a Lithium-ion Battery NB-6L instead. Both batteries look the same but of course one has more power to it. Will I be able to use the Lithium-ion Battery NB-6L on my older camera one or the other way around?

You could call a good camera store and ask them, but I would guess they are not interchangeable.    You could fry your camera if it's too powerful.

Or call 1-800-OKCanon and find out from them.  They would know for sure.
