  1. You should try the fixed lens 50mm F1.8. It's about $90. Check on amazon.com.

  2. Since your camera is a "full frame" camera (it's a film SLR after all), the best normal, walk-around lens that will blow the 28-70 mm one away would be Canon 24-70 mm f 2.8 L.

Here are some photos taken with it (each photo is marked with the lens used). http://www.flickr.com/little_pooky

and when you invest in that lens (it's not cheap), you can always use it with another Canon camera, and quite well with a full frame dSLR.

  3. Don't Blame You About

    Not Trusting Ebay..

    So, What's Your Budget..?

And Which Kind Of Lens Do You Need?

A lens for portraiture, wildlife, wide-angle..?

alot of canon's lenses from the film world which the used are now discontinued. However, these are some good ones:

    http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Cam...

Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens, Assuming your camera has an aperture value mode... note, this lens doesn't zoom, it's a prime lens.

    http://www.amazon.com/Canon-70-300mm-4-5...

if you have the money, get this one, it's an IS 70-300mm Lens
