Canon DC40 and Roxio mydvd 9 help?

Question

I have a canon DC40 and i can get the film onto mydvd 9 but then i want to load it onto windows moviemaker to edit it and when i load it into there it will import it but it will not play it. How can i get the film from the camera windows moviemaker? I cant just go into moviemaker and pull it up because it pick up the disk or the camcorder.

Have you tried importing directly to WMM & skipping MyDVD completely??
