  1. The EOS 450D is a dammned good camera. Focussing to some 100 yards with this camera is easy.  Curtains at 100 yards with the zoom lens, can show you the pattern. 10.1 mega pixels but the beast is quite heavy to lug around.

No experience of the new model but you seem to know a bit about the two of them, your cash, your choice.

  2. go for a semi pro camera built around 2002-2003. Save you a lot of money and very few negative things over the modern cameras.

A real bonus is you can relax with your camera.

look up www.dpreview.com and check out for older cameras.

  3. Tough choice there, have a 350D, great camera, no reason to believe that the 450D wouldn't be better.

The 1000D is currently available at http://www.7dayshop.com for £329 (body only) or £394 with lens.

Try this site to compare if you like:- http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/

    Happy shooting.

  4. I'd get the 450D just for the fact that it has 9 auto focus points instead of the 1000D's 7. It also has spot metering which the 1000D doesn't have.
