I've noticed online that the camers costs about 50% less in the US than here in Ireland. My question is; Would they be the same camera. Is there a US version and an EU version or are the the same product?

  1. They are the same product with different names, the pricing depends upon import fees to your country, and the current rates of exchange.

  2. I don't think that cameras are manufactured on the basis of geographical targets. You can check the prices of digital cameras of all models in US here

  3. Everyone else has said good things. I'd also like to add that if you buy from the US your warranty probably won't be valid.

Also, I'd like to emphasize that you need to consider customs in that pricing.

  4. There is no difference in the camera, but there can be a difference in the guarantee and little things such as the charger will be 115V (though most are universal these days) and there will be an American plug on it.

Buying from the USA isn't necessarily cheaper, if your unlucky the Customs men will slap on VAT and Duty which will make it dearer than buying locally. This usually isn't a problem when buying from within the EEC, check out German and UK prices.
