Canon Extender EF 2x II?

I have a Canon EOS 400D with a Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 lens. I would like to know if the Canon Extender EF 2x II will be compatible with this lens?

  1. I don't know about that particular lens, but here is a word of warning:

    I have the 1.4x extender, and the ONLY one of my lenses it is compatible with, is the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM.
