A friend recently gave me an EOS Elan with 28-210 lens. I have a whole stable of FD lenses and I would like some info on lens converters. Pros/cons personal experience, are they even worth the trouble? Thanks.

  1. HI Bntmn.   Funny you should ask that question.... As I just bought one about a week ago.   Ordered it from eBay from a seller that has many many good feedbacks and a number of good ones from people who have bought the same adapter.   When I put the one I got on my camera it did not work.   All of my pictures were blurry from three different cameras with three different lenses to test it out.   I know these adapters work because I tried one on another camera and lens at the camera store and it did a wonderful job...  just what I wanted...  (that one was not for sale).   I have about 6 beautiful FD L lenses and I WANT to use them.  I really think something was wrong with the one I got.   If you have been checking the prices,  they are from between $29.00 to $119.00 depending on where you get them.  If you can find one of the original Canon adapters they run in the neighborhhood of $1000.00!!!   Yes you read that right!!  Apparantly, only a handful were made and they are seriously collectible.    I am going to go looking for another one, as I do think they are definately worth the trouble.... if you want to get use of your FD lenses.   Hope that helps. And Thanks for readying.
