Question:

Canon Powershot A85?

I bought it at a thrift store and it didnt come w/ a memory card.. it works perfectly but i was wondering if theres a way to take pictures and get them DIRECTLY on the computer w/ just a USB cord? .. i have a cord that fits but idk how to get it to come up on my computer if its possible.

  1. Are you talking about saving them directly to the computer or reading the card without having to take it out.  I'll assume you mean the first because the second you just plug the camera up to the computer and put the camera in play mode to read the pictures.

    I'm guessing you didn't get the CD that would normally come with it.  On it is a program called ZoomBrowser.  ZoomBrowser has a RemoteCapture task.  

    Another alternative is to download the Canon SDK and find the sample program called RELCTRL.  This is mainly for those that are familiar with C++, but the program is already compiled, so you can download the SDK just for this application.
