Canon Rebel or Nikon D60?

I've heard bad things about the auto-focus and white balance on the Canons...anyone had experience with these 2 cameras? If so, is the D60 really worth the extra money?

  1. Depends on which rebel You're talking about, like the rebel xt is below the  d60, and the xti is the equivalent to the d60. Personally, i like Nikon brand cameras, because i think the quality is better, and they look physically more pleasing, and professional ( if that makes sense ) The AF ( autofocus ) speed depends on the lens you attach. Naturally, some lenses are faster in aperture, and focus then others. However, that shouldn't distort your mind about getting the rebel ( if it's the XTI ) these cameras are almost the same.

Same everything, megapixels, screen etc. etc. same anti-dust, etc. etc. so, which one you get depends on which brand you like more.

  2. Look beyond the camera body. You're buying into a whole system...lenses, flashes etc. Do some research in that area.

But what you can't get from reading is how it feels and functions in your hands. Go to a camera store and try them out and see which one works for you, size weight and function operation.

Edit: Two cameras, similar capabilities....how they "look" is FAR less important than how well it fit you personally both ergonomically and intuitively.
