Question:

Canon S5 IS Digital Camera -- Eye Pictures?

I'm trying to take pictures of my eye and eye makeup and whenever I do, it comes out blurry. I can't put the flash on because that will wash everything out. What setting do I need to put it on to get really clear and detailed pictures with true coloring?

  1. Put the camera on a tripod. Get good lighting on your face. Simplest, go near a window during the day. Get a clamp on light and a flourescent floodlight. Use it to light your face.

Use the self timer to trigger the camera, or get someone to trip the shutter for you.

  2. If you don't have enough light in the room you're SOL. You can set it on AV and a low f-stop, but your pictures will have an unnatural color (even if you futz with white balance).

So shoot in daylight. Flip the screen over so you can see yourself in it and see what you're shooting. Try the macro setting and self timer.

You'll need a still surface for your camera if you don't have a tripod.

  3. Put the setting onto custom and use super macro :)

    Good luck with your pictures!
