Canon S5 IS digital cameras made in Japan or China. Is there a difference, if so what???

I've been looking on Ebay for this digital camera. People always ask if it's made in Japan or China. Is quality better or is it just loyalty for ones own country? Please help on this matter. Thanks Yahoo Ask members.

I am living in japan and i can tell you that there is just an image difference and that's it.Canon factory in China does not mean it is producing Chinese products.With all the quality control standards ,there is no way that Chinese one is less capable or worse than Japanese one.Japanese one is for domestic market  where people are crazy about st made in Japan.

Canon makes cameras where it is cheapest.  They do not have 1 factory in Japan and another in China making the same camera.  This is a myth.  Just buy the S5 if dats what U want.  Old salesman trick: oh, don't get the Chinese version, you want the expensive Japanese version.  If they try dat with U, find another store.
