Canon SD 1000 Camera help!

I had this camera for over a year but right now it seems to not able to take a lot of pictures. For instance, when i take about 10 pictures, it tells me on the left corner that i only have 5 pictures left. I remembered a few months ago, i could take 50 plus photos without having to delete any of them. Did i do something to it that caused this? Is there an option that fixes this back to normal.

Can anyone help me out ? Thanks.

  1. ok the problem can be that you set the type of picture setting to something that takes up more memory...For example picture size is different, it can be in outdoor, pets and kids stuff like that...i would recommend trying this.

    1. click on the function button and if its not on auto set it to auto

    2. move down 2 until it brings you to the size and you can set the size to S, M1, M2, L (this is how large the picture will be) the larger it is the more memory it takes.

I leave my setting to Small so i can hold many pictures but you can choose your size

  2. What you can do is transfer or copy all your photos first to your computer. After having done that, format your card to completely clear all that are in the card or memory that deleting alone can't removed. You should try to format your card every time you have transfered your images safely.

  3. Also, did you perhaps take your memory card out and forget to put it back in? Without the memory card you'll be using internal memory and that only has about enough space for 5 or 6 pics.

  4. go to thecnical support
