Okay so i've decided that it wouldnt matter to me about which brand my camera is as long as its either Canon or Nikon. The swinging factor is a fisheye lense. My main question is, Which camera has a cheaper fisheye lense? The lense doesnt have to have the Nikon or Canon brand on it and i'd like to avoid ebay (ebay is my last choice.)

I dont know TOO much on fisheye lenses but i do know i want the effect of the lense, so please educate me some on this. Thank You =]

  1. If you get a Canon or Nikon, why would you put a cheap, or even third-party, lens on it? That's like using Ford parts on a Ferrari. Stick with OEM lenses.

Canon digital cameras can't use every Canon lens because of mount differences. Nikon, on the other hand, can use every Nion lens (to an extent) made since 1959.

Oh...as far as Ebay goes...I bought my 18-200mmVR lens through ebay for $635, shipped. Circuit City and Best Buy wanted $899.

  2. Well, unless you are going full frame ($8,000 for the Canon and $5,000 for the Nikon) only Nikon makes a fisheye lens for the DSLR's using APS-C sensors.  That would be the Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye.

    10.5 mm Nikon = $600

Fisheye lenses for full frame digital and 35 mm cameras

    16 mm Nikon $770

    15 mm Canon $610

Remember that the 15mm and 16mm fisheyes will not give you a full fisheye image on a APS-C sensor.
