Canon sd790 and warranty?

i got a new sd790.....when i stared at the lens in direct llight, i spotted some weird dots and it looked like someone touched it with their finger......i never even touched the lens or cleaned it yet!.....will canon's warranty cover it (if the "dots" wont come off?)

First try cleaning the lens.  It will probably come off.  Then if it doesn't, go ahead and return it.  Get a soft clean microfiber cloth.  Lightly breathe on the lens, and wipe it in a gentle circular motion and look at it again.
