Canon xl2 help?

Question

i recorded a minidv tape on a different camera, but i can't get it to playback on my xl2. any ideas?

some miniDV cameras allow recording at a slow speed. those tapes rarely playback anywhere except on the originating camcorder.

If the other camera recorded in a different format (like HDV or some funky pro 4:3:2 pull down something that the standard definition XL2 cannot deal with) or if either camcorder's heads are not properly aligned then playback will be a problem.

What was the other camcorder?

What format is the video data on the tape?
