The first is the fibonnaci sequence, quite well-known.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_n...  It goes 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ... as the other person posted.

The second is the sequence of cubes.

1^3 = 1

2^3 = 8

3^3 = 27

4^3 = 64

5^3 = 125, ...
