Can't See HDD in Windows Explorer

I have my "ExcelStor Technology J840" on as a slave drive (Disk 1) on my computer. The master, where I have my Windows2000 OS, is a Sumsang SPO411C. Recently I removed the ExcelStor and put in another drive for a short while to copy some stuff from there, and then I put back the ExcelStor. My problem is after the switch I can no longer see the ExcelStor Technology J840 in Windows Explorer nor can I run any programs installed on it. I have checked the BIOS and Device Manager and they all detect it. I have scanned for problems in the Add/Remove Hardware (Control Panel) and it says the drive is working properly. However when I run Partition Magic it tells me that I used a different drive geometry to create the partition and advises me not to tamper with the HDD using Partition Magic, where it appears as "BAD". How can I get my ExcelStor Technology J840 to work again, without formatting. Thanks!
