All jury duty has routes for excuse - look them up for your assigned duty and act on them promptly!

You have to provide documented proof like airline tickets, prepaid hotel reservations etc.

Any one wanting to "get out" of jury duty, must provide a "plausible"reason. Going on vacation does not seem to me to be a "plausible" reason.

I have served three jury duties--never wanting to "get out".

Unfortunately, all three juries I served on, most all of the jurors just wanted to "get it over with", and go home. Very few jurors took the case they were asked to judge, took the case seriously. One was a murder trial!

Serving on a jury is a serious responsibility.

Should I be the accused, I would certainly want selected jurors to be concerned with justice more than they were to going home to their children, going to the local bar to have a drink with their friends, or watching an NFL or MLB game!
