Cant copy files to CD. HELP.?

I have this problem when I try to copy files onto the DVD-R disk in the :D drive it comes up with a message

Problem copying files.

Windows ecountered a problem in trying to copy this file.

All i know is that it isnt the burning of the disk itself I think itsthe drive.

In my recordings tab ive clicked that enable recordings thing but ti still comes up with the message. I can copying files fine on a normal CD-R disk its just I cant copy files on a DVD-r disk.

I have a DVD drive and have copied files on a DVD-R before.

He doesnt have a problem with knowing how to copy the files hes getting a windows error when trying to send the files to disc.

I also have this problem on certain things main things are video files windows does not seem to want to send them to a disc music and images burn just fine now i don't know if your burning videos so dont know if this will be any help but i personally would suggest getting a burning programme such as nero or sonic simply because there much faster and better than the windows standard writer.

From the Start menu, click on My Documents

Select the files you want to burn to CD.

Hold down the CTRL key while you click files if you want to select more than one file. If you want to select all the files in the folder, click on Select All from the Edit menu.

   1. Right-click on one of the files you've selected.

   2. From the menu that pops up, point to Send to and click on Cd-RW Drive.

Go back to My Computer. You can click on My Computer in the Other Places list of links to the left of the list of your files.

Double-click on the CD-RW Drive icon.

To the left of your files, there is a list of links called CD Writing Tasks. Click on Write these files to CD.

The Windows CD Writing Wizard will begin. Type a name for the CD into the box and click Next.

Windows will prompt you to insert a writable CD. Insert a writeable CD and click Next.

Windows will burn the files to your CD. When the wizard is finished, it will close automatically.
