OK, so heres the situation.

Im turning 16 soon and i can get a car up to 3000 dollars

The choices are....

An automatic 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe. with 144k miles on the odometer. but a swapped engine with 100k miles aswell as new alternater. It has rust behind both rear wheel hubs, and its black with a little of the clear coat coming off on the trunk, but it doesnt bother me that much. It also has a sun roof.

And...

A Manual 1994 Honda Civic Sedan (White). It has 179k miles with swapped engine aswell. There is a small dent with a little rust in it and the hood needs replaces. It has brand new front tires, alternator, Brake system, and Exhaust. Good paint

The 95 costs $2,500

The 94 coats $3,000

Keep in mind that im a 16 year old guy looking to ride in style aswell, Thats why I'd kinda like a coupe, but also the sedan has a manual transmission, that would be fun to have aswell.

I also plan to put after market performance and visual mods on the car.

Any input people.

  1. Holy cow!  Rusty civics have gone up a lot.  Both seem grossly overpriced to me, considering the (lousy) condition.

Try this - search nationwide for a civic in your price range.  You can use cars.com for that.  I'll bet you can find better cars than these for $1000, in a different area of the country.

  2. ok its stick....you  have a stick car that also has absolutely no power to have "fun" with..also why do you want a honda so bad why not a sports car that come with 160hp+ stock (varies with makers)  Get something worth having unless your one of those kids wove watched to much fast and furious...

other than that both cars are a/ss 1.6litre civics for real think about your choices

  3. When I turned 16 I had a 1968 Ford Mustang..lol cost me $500.00.... dang the cost has gone way up even for used..

I'd say which one do you think would give you better gas mileage, or won't break down sooner?? Keep in mind when your buying a car that has that many miles on it, you'd better be prepared for repairs that you'll more than likely have in the future.. And car insurance? did you find out what that will run you??? Automatics are usually cheaper but then again being a teen it won't be cheap either.. SO I guess what ever you feel you'd like to drive.. GOODLUCK with whatever you decide..

  4. id go with the 95 coupe :)

but im a 16 year old girl if that makes a differance.
