Cant download games from the playstation store to my psp?

Question

i have system update version 3.73, and it sais on the site that you need a minimum of 3.1, but when i download the game onto my psp and i did follow all instructions correctly, it tells me that my psp needs a system update. how can this be since i did everything right and have more than 3.1?

if you are trying to download from pc you need the ((playstation network downloader)) required for downloading content to your psp system from playstation store

could it be some sort of compatibility issue with the psp and psp slim (there are slim only features), or some custom firmware. Try upgrading to the most resent firmware 4.05
