  1. I have the same problem, and dont knock it before you try it, smoke weed.

  2. You might be doing something wrong while you're up and about.

    You might be;

    1.  Eating right before you sleep.  Allow at least 2 hours after your meal before you hit that pillow.  You're body wants to relax when you sleep, not digest food.

    2.  sleeping at irregular times.  For example if you went to sleep at 11pm the first day and then 8 the next, you're body clock will get mixed up and therefore think there are more hours in the day, leaving you awake and annoyed.

    3.  drinking caffeine before bed.  This might be obvious but caffeine keeps you awake.  try not to drink any coffee, tea, coke (or other fizzy juices) as these contain enough caffeine to keep you from your sleep.

    4.  not doing enough exercise.  you're body is tired after exercise and therefore needs sleep.  you don't need to be olympic about it.  perhaps run a few laps around your street before dinner.  It'll make you sleep better and it burns calories too!

    5.  last but not least, stress!  Leave your worries at the door.  stress is like mental caffeine and can also leave you awake.  Try to relax and get things done before the day ends.  That way, you can wake up feeling refreshed and with clean sheet of paper in mind.  if it really is stress and it's to do with work, perhaps you should consider something less harsh, after all a few months is a long time without a night's decent sleep...

    Hope I helped.  listen to some relaxing music before you sleep or something.  anything that helps you unwind.  also, if you really have to eat.  Eat peanut butter or milk and things with milk content as these foods have chemicals that help you sleep better.  It's still better you don't eat though...(= (sorry to be so long)

  3. start reading or doing sudoku/puzzles or something

  4. dont think about it. convince yourself that you are HAPPY that your finally in bed and you get to just relax and do nothing. The key is not thinking about sleeping, but possibly, what your going to do tommorow, or what you did yesterday.. good luck, and goooood NIGHT!
