Cant figure out what this book is called?

Question

a couple a years ago our class was reading a book which i never read but now i kinda want too its supposed to be based on a native american boy who goes on a search and finds out his parents were the sun and moon or something thts all i really remember

Are you sure it was a boy in the story? The only book I can find anything like that is The Disobedience of the Daughter of the Sun: Ecstasy & Time, which is based on a Mayan legend. Here's a link to it so you can check.
