  1. I do not know what county that is in, but go to the county courthouse and they can access the death records if not they can work with the department of defense to help you. You will need to provide proof you are a relative or they will not help you.

the social security death index covers the US.. but you say he was IN ww2, not when he died.  The index starts with deaths about 1960ish.

here is an index for Ohio only, which only goes UP to 1944.  This has 52 Doles from 1936 to 1944.  I pulled up all counties because sometimes a person's death is not shown in the county where they lived.

You might also find info on the usgenweb site for the county.. which usually will be a burial record.

Keep in mind that a death RECORD is not the same as the death certificate itself.  For example you might find the exact date in an index, but for the full record, you still need to get the death certificate.  Sometimes this is a multi step process.

You can also try posting the name of the person, with the estimated death date if you know it.. and someone here MIGHT succeed in finding it.

further info on what can be ordered, but not how to find, depending on the exact date.

  3. What christian name are you looking for, I found Harry, from Jackson.
