Cant find underwear small enough

i have a two yr old daughter who is a preemie. she only weighs 14 lbs. she is ready to start potty training and i cant find undies small enough for her. 2t/3t is just too big..any suggestions on where i might be able to find 18 month undies....

i am having the same problem!! my daughter just turned 2 last month and she weighs about 27lbs but 2T/3T is too big for her too!! they keep falling off of her!! good luck because i haven't found any 18mo undies, i've looked at walmart, kmart, and even on ebay. if you find some please let me know too!! thanks =)

I found a big difference between different brand sizes. But none were small enough for my son. I would sew darts (triangle shape) in the waistbands, one on each side a bit from the middle, going down from the waistband about an 1 1/2 inches. It made the undies so they wouldn't fall off him. It only takes a few stitches by hand. I had to use pull ups at first before I thought of taking in the undies.

My son (23.5 weeker, now a teen) always wore Gap overalls until potty training, then I had to sew darts into his pants waistbands to get them to fit.

I found the most important part of potty training is that the child has to be able to pull down their undies themselves. Sometimes preemies have balance issues, so that can be a bit tricky for them.

In case you're wondering, my son hit the weight chart - 5 percent - at 5 yrs old. Of course, I stuffed him real good before weighing him. = ) Before that he was way below the charts for weight and around 5 - 10 percent for height. Now he's about 75 percent for height and 50 percent for weight. Hang in there.  = )

Try Babies R Us.  I know walmart carries 2T size and up. I've never actually seen them smaller than that there though. You could also try a preemie shop online:

is there a resource group in your town for preemies?  this is the best resource.  visit the boutique shops for more help.  consider making her panties.
