Cant get front caliber mounting bracket bolts off

i have a 1994 Pontiac grand prix se coupe and i can not get the caliber mounting bracket bolts off. i have tryed everything....heat,impack gun, breaker bar, and breaking rust free with hammer and wd40 but they just wont budge.

  1. You better just take it in then before you break something. Then your screwed!


  2. You need to use a 4 foot breaker bar.

  3. Try heating the housing, not the bolt. This may cause enough expansion in the housing to break it loose with a breaker bar. You may be able to put pressure with breaker bar and tap bar with hammer after you have heated up the housing. A helper would be handy!

  4. channel locks and long pipe...keep soaking with WD-40

  5. tear the boot away and use a small pipe wrench on it or vise grips.

  6. I'm wondering why you need the brackets off. If your replacing pads you don't the brackets off.
