I just recently lost my job, im looking for another job and have had a few good interviews. I've been working at a place called labor ready, but its not even close to being enough to pay everything. I'm a week late on my car payment, and i have have 130 dollars out of the 270 i need to pay for my car... what can i do about this? can i call them and push it back to a later date? other than the obvious like borrowing money, which really isnt an option, im lost.

  1. Contact the lender, and let them know what's going on.  Perhaps they will allow you to do an interest only payment for a month or two until you get back on your feet.

  2. yes call them right away most lenders are more than willing to work with you, some(like Chase) will even allow you up to 3 mos. without paying(however they are extended on the end of your loan)good luck with the job search!

  3. call them asap. they will work with you.

  4. Most banks will let you skip a payment..... FOR A FEE, usually 30-50% of your normal payment. Then an extra months will be added to the backend of your loan.

I would contact them unless you think you can pay two months worth of payment in 3 weeks.

  5. The best advice is to talk to your lender and be honest.  Tell them that you are a little behind, but you intend to get caught up.

Depending on the lender they might allow you to pay double next month or to make the partial payment now and make up the rest next time payment is due.

  6. You need to call the lender immediately. They are usually willing to work with you if you come to them with a problem. If they come to you, they aren't as helpful.
