  1. Are they channels you SHOULD be receiving? (Not pay channels or anything?)

    Call your cable company.

  2. tried flicking the switch at the power point for 30 seconds then turning it on again? thats what i have to do with my set top box. It does it all the time and i feel like smashing it against the wall every time i have to do it

  3. First check if you can receive these channels with your antenna connected directly to the tv antenna input. If you cannot the problem is with your antenna. Also If you can receive 2,7, and UHF digital transmisssions through yur set top box, then maybe you need to set your set top box to go through its AUTOSCAN setup again in the MAIN menu. On some boxes you can choose to "SKIP" channels as you can in VCR's and DVD's with tuners.

Check if the channels you "cannot get" are set to SKIP and if so change the setting back to Normal using the instructions in your User Manual. No User Manual?  Do a google search or try the set top box manufacturers website for a free .pdf download.

  4. Do you have a UHF only antenna?  Many of the antennas marketed as "HD" or "digital" are UHF only.  Channel 9 is a VHF channel.  The problem is, many digital stations are VHF so a UHF only antenna won't cover everything.

Visit http://www.antennaweb.org , put in your ZIP code and you will get a list of digital stations in your area, suggestions on antennas and where to aim them.

I hope this helps.  Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.
