  1. Hi Emma, I have just read your latest three questions and I, like you, have difficulty sleeping.

I am in the UK too (Lancashire) - it is 3:30am, and I am just having a large scotch for self-anaesthetism. x

  2. the best thing you can do is aerobic exercise then a hot shower. If that doesn't work there is a completely natural supplement called melatonin which helps inhibit regular sleep patterns. Just take it a half hour before bed.

  3. play back your whole day in your head, what everyone was wearing, saying, basically like a movie. It works

Most things that tire out your brain work...

    Hope this helps!

    sweet dreams!

  4. I can't get to sleep unless I read a book or just spend lots of time online until my eyes get tired.  (The reason I'm online right now actually)   That always helps me.

  5. Plug in a night light, since you say you sleep good in the day,

and listening to the radio always helps me sleep, so try that too

  6. As a doctor, I belive you may be suffering from insomnia.

Insomnia can be a symptom of physical disorders, although for most of us it's the result of tension, stress and anxiety—and of course the more anxious we get about our insomnia, the worse it gets. If your doctor pronounces you a "healthy" insomniac, he might suggest some of the techniques provided here. Or she might prescribe drugs to help you get to sleep.

We suggest you try all these methods first, and use drugs only as a last resort. The decision, of course, is yours.

You can also take a warm bath, get a massage, drink warm milk, listen to music, drink herb tea, eat a bedtime snack, avoid caffeine, alcohol and tobacco. Reply back if none of these work coz i noe heaps more. gl

  7. Are you doing any excercise during the hours you're awake?  Your body will become more tired and require sleep with more physical exertion.  Are you stressed? Try and unwind earlier than normal - don't do something stimulating then go to bed.  Allow yourself 30 mins to unwind before you sleep.  Try getting ready for bed, and having some lightly scented incense burned in  your bedroom, or some candles. Use some meditation music, and just try and clear your mind.

It really depends on the problem that's keeping you awake, but if its' an ongoing issue, you should seek medical advice, as you may have a serious sleeping disorder.
