I think he is so overarrated! I'm a huge hagler fan so i believe you understand my disposition. If he was fighting in this day and age who would you want to see knock him out? i would like to see oscar dismantle him!

  1. Yeah I think he is overrated too. The only reason he wanted to fight Duran was because duran was 70 lbs overweight! And even though Duran was trying to get the fight postponed so he could get in shape in a healthy way Leonard would have nothing of it!! Leonard wanted no part of Duran at his best!!! (the famous "NO MaS" fight)

And then the only reason he Fought Hagler was after the beating he took at the hands of Mugabi... Leonard almost always avoided guys at their Very Best.. So yeah I think Oscar would give him trouble!

*** Im with Tron here! Can't people have their own opinions? are we all supposed to agree on everything??***

  2. You know, say whatever  you want about Sugar Ray Leonard.  But he stepped into the ring with Hagler, Hearns and Duran and fought a total of 73 rounds against 3 of the greatest fighters that ever lived.

OSCAR DISMANTLE RAY LEONARD?  LMFAO.  Oscar never won a big fight, and I think I've already spend too much time responding to you.  Oh wait, I get it..you're still mad about Ray taunting Marvin, the way he stuck his chin at Marvin, the way he BOLO PUNCHED Marvin, and the way he laughed at Marvin in the 10th when Marvin couldn't land a punch.

  3. I picked Leonard to beat Hagler.  A local sports writer said I was crazy.  I liked Hearns, Hagler, and Duran.  I'm ashamed the way Leonard beat Hagler he did not deserve the decision.  I, however, like DeLaHoya and Mayweather even less than I like Ray.  Leonard would have beat DeLaHoya-no contest.   Leonard would have decisioned Mayweather--that would have been a great fight.

I watched most of Leonard's fights ---He was a great fighter, considering he didn't know for sure if he wanted to turn pro after the Olympics.

  4. He's a good fighter.  He had a couple great fights and every one is all like he's the greatest.  Like whatever.  He got jacked a few times.  He's like Old De La Hoya...his reputation is far greater than he is.  No disrespect to the brother cause he had skill, just not one of the all time greats

  5. Man you dont know what the h**l you are talking about.

Leonard is one of the greatest welter weights of all time,

As for pound for pound best, im gonna have to go with

    Ray Robinson on that one.

    Over rated? No!!

He made Roberto Duran (the man who knocked out a horse with one punch) say

"No Mas" he also got in the ring with some heavy punchers.

And you really think de la hoya would beat leonard????

HA HA HA i laugh in your face, it would be a nice match

to see but de la hoya would get out worked in so many ways..

He would be given a boxing lesson

Leonard is one of the greats show some respect..

  6. oscar de la hoya dismantle ray leonard. R U smoking crack?

  7. Oscar would not be able to beat Leonard,I am a big Hagler fan myself but i don't think de la hoya had what it took to beat leonard, sugar ray leonard took shots from hearns and duran and these guys hit a lot harder than oscar and were much better fighters, I personally dislike Leonard for refusing to give hagler a rematch after their first fight i felt hagler deserved a rematch because that fight was very close and leonard never really hurt hagler, hagler was more aggressive and seemed focused on winning while leonard just threw last minute flurries to impress judges, hagler deserved a rematch for that fight and leonrad never gave it to him.

  8. 115-113

    118-110

Those are the scores that Leonard got over your boyfriend Hagler in 1987.

    Read em and weep.

  9. It was a close fight between Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard. Sugar Ray was a welter weight and Marvin was a middleweight, so I think Sugar Ray fought a great fight against a naturally bigger man.

  10. Absolutey not! I was a fan of Hagler's as well, but I think he lost the fight because he gave away the early rounds!

But if you are being realistic, Leonard beat Duran, Hearns, Benitez, Kalule, Hagler and Lalonde, thats one h**l of a resume.

You do admit you have a tainted disposition, but give the guy his do. He beat the best of his time. What more do you want?

*** So he officially beat Hagler, he's 2-1 vs Duran, he's 1-0-1 vs Hearns including a Ko but according to you they are all better than him? That makes NO sense!

You need to base your opinion on some facts, if you want to be taken seriously!

****The point is, you are asking a question (or really stating your opinion) and the premise of this question is not based on fact. The premise is based on your opinion. The actual opening line isn't even a question. It's a statement with a question mark. The only actual question you ask is "who would you like to see knock him out". (For me...Hagler but FACT is he didn't) as for Oscar, as most people have stated, Oscar lost his biggest fights (Ray didn't except Duran {fact})

Mayweather is similar to Ray but smaller and doesn't pack the punch that Ray does.

We all have opinion's, intelligent opinions are based on fact.

  11. Man..... your a boxing fan??????? Leonard overrated??? Huh?? wha??? have you actually seen any of his old fights. He was the Mayweather of his day only better and more willing to mix it up.

    Show some respect.

Leonard dominated for years losing only one fight in his prime to Roberto Duran, then came back and earned a TKO over Duran in the rematch.

He beat Floyd Myaweather sr who is the self toted best trainer in the world, and the man who taught Floyd how to box.

He was only thoroughly beaten after he came back by Terry Norris and Hector Camacho, but at that time he had a hard time getting licensed because he was half blind in his right eye i think it was.

Show some respect for "one of" the greatest fighters p4p of all time.

  12. He was very overrated and he lost to Hagler and was given a win  and he also lost to Hearns in the second fight witch was called a draw
