I have dial up connection and I wanted to ask if a cantenna will be faster? Would it work even if I dont have a wireless card? I have all needed to make the cantenna but I was wondering if it will work with a usb cable connected to my desktop pc?

  1. Sorry - as long as you have dial up, your stuck. Once you get a broadband connection, you will find your options greatly expanded.

  2. A Cantenna is an antenna made out of a Can.  Antennas are only used to capture and or transmit radio waves.

Dial up internet connections use Plain Old Telephone service (POTS) to transmit and recieve the internet.

Therefore, as long as you connect to the internet using dial up there is absolutely no reason to build a cantenna.

It would be like being a motor boat engine but not owning an actual boat.
