Leather makes a nice *BLAPK!* sound when you smack it just right. Leather is also easier to clean and doesn't stain like canvas bags. I think both last very long with leather lasting a bit longer.

I would go with nevetar I use it all the time and it has no tears and its not hard on the hands.  Even if you are real serious about boxing or mma it still holds up to abuse.  Remember to wear hand wrap and at least gloves.  Also it is decently cheap

It depends. If you are just working out, go leather. If you want to get tough, go canvas.

Canvas,Ive owned one for the last 5 years, I never owned a leather bag that long, but leather does make a nice blap sound when you whack it just right.

Definitly leather!  It is tougher, lasts longer (in my club we have some bags from the 60ies, refilled of course) and has the best feeling. Only disadvantage... the price.
