  1. Well....it depends.   If you want the highlights to reallyy stand out then go with the foil, because those are somewhat big chunks that they color. The cap (which is what i get) hurts a little cause they have to pull your hair outta the little holes with a tool, but it looks moresubtlee anddefinitelyy more natural. Besides do you really wanna sit in the salon, looking like u can pick up a million channels on their tv set? lol. Hope that helps you decide.

  2. Pretty much the cap went out in the 90s - it gives that striped tiger look - can always tell a cap highlight.  Foil is better but now the salons are doing more with the color itself giving low and highlights rather than highlighting.

  3. I use a cap and they look really natural I find

Also, your avatar is cute :P

  4. If the cap is used and with powder its okay for a natural look. The hook that is used is a crochet hook and very small. Also a plastic cap can be used under the cap to protect from any leaking.

Foiling is the new way to hold and protect the hair from the bleach. Frosting was used for years with the shorter styles and was very successful to many for the look they wanted. Does it hurt alittle with the pulling? Yes it does but just aliitle so be brave.

Think of how much hair a crochet hook can take from little pin holes in the cap.

    happy hair to you...

  5. definately foil one it hurts less and if u get cap the tugging and pulling constantly leads to hair loss u dnt want that now do u

u also can get more of a colour or more of the colour from the foil ones...its pain free and much more prefired

  6. Foil, it gives the hair dye a better chance to absorb into the hair.

  7. I think the cap you can do yourself and is cheaper. But I don't know for sure I think it depends on who you ask and what look you are going for.

  8. There is a new comfortable poyethylene cap on the

market available from beauty supply stores. It is color-coded

and comes with illustraions giving superior results than random foiling.

    Saves BIG!

  9. Foil highlights are definitely the more popular kind because more than one color can be applied at the same time and there is usually less risk of the color bleeding like it sometimes happens with a cap. The other incentive to foil highlights is that the sections being highlighted can be as big or small as you like, which is more difficult to control with a cap.

  10. Foil for sure.  It's easier and they can make the slices bigger or smaller as you prefer.  They can also put them anywhere in your hair or hide them under your part so when they grow out your regrowth doesn't show as much.

I haven't seen cap highlights done on a woman in a salon unless she has short hair as long hair is too difficult to pull through and hurts.

    Good luck!
