Capcom’s Ninja Theory reveals DMC plot details – Video Games Update
Capcom has released a new trailer for the Ninja Theory reboot of Devil May Cry which reveals the addition of Virgil, Dante’s brother to the game.
Ninja Theory revealed some plot details about the game and shed some light on how the reboots’ story will be a bit different than that of the original series. In the reboot, the Demons are slowly taking over humankind by brain washing them and keeping them
in the dark.
The general storyline is pretty much the same as Dante, who is the son of the Demon Lord Sparda and the angel Eva, fights and hunts the demons to protect mankind. The latest trailer shows that Virgil will indeed be in the game with his trusty katana, Yamato.
Apparently Virgil is also fighting the demons and looks up Dante to enlist him in the resistance group called the order to overthrow the demons. The Order consists of hackers and spies working for Virgil to save the human race.
The video explains that the twin brothers were estranged since childhood and Dante has no recollection of having a twin brother but since they both are fighting for the same cause, Dante must join forces with Virgil.
Ever since Capcom announced that the DMC series was being rebooted and being handed over to a western developer, Ninja Theory, fans have been pretty upset. Hardcore fans of the series are not looking forward to the major changes and overhauls to the fighting
system that Ninja Theory will bring to the game.
So far every video released for the game has resulted in harsh criticism from gamers because they believe that another developer can’t capture the feel of the original game. The main cause of the fan uproar was the decision to change the colour of Dante’s
hair from Silver/White to Black. But it appears that Ninja Theory is trying to play it safe as Virgil was revealed to have White/Platinum Blond hair in the trailer.
The game, being developed on Unreal Engine 3, boasts beautiful visuals and very realistic and fluid animations but will Ninja Theory be able to replicate the intense combat found in the previous DMC games? Gamers will have to wait until the game comes out
to try it themselves when DMC launches on January 15, 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
