Putting in a solid all-round effort, the Lions secured their third consecutive win in the ongoing Momentum One Day Cup by claiming a 19-run victory over the Cape Cobras in their list A match at Newlands in Cape Town on November 9.
The match kicked off with the Lions winning the toss, and deciding to bat first. The opening partnership between skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Justin-Kemp-c1750 (10-3-23-2) claimed Cook as his first victim of the day.
Youngster http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Quinton-de-Kock-c82885 (28) was the next batsman to step up, and joined Bodi for a 36-run partnership for the second wicket – however, Bodi departed soon, run out by Cobras' skipper Justin Ontong in the 23rd over.

The remainder of the batting order remained lacklustre, and with a few minor contributions from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 were able to post a total of 248 by the end of 50 overs, at the expense of 9 wickets.
The Lions then went on to launch a spirited defence of their total – all 5 bowlers in the attack managed to pick up at least one wicket each, with O'Reilly (10-0-61-3) spearheading the attack, while Morris (8.5-0-42-2), Viljoen (8-1-36-2), and Player of the Match de Bruyn (10-0-48-2) all chipped in with two scalps each.
The Cobras’ batsmen all managed to get starts, but none were able to covert these into solid scores. Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yaseen-Vallie-c2807 (24), and Kemp (24) remained the only other batsmen of note. By the 47th over, the Cobras, faltering in their chase, found themselves all out at 229, granting the Lions a 19-run victory.
