http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cape-Cobras-c776 ended the week on a positive note by winning their four-day Sunfoil Series match against Titans by 10 wickets at Newlands, Cape Town.
After bolstering a massive first innings score of 476 in reply to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Titans-c856’ 192, Cape Cobras had shattered their opposition and were now in a position to hold on to their lead by bowling out the Titans on a small score.
Having posted 15 for two at stumps on the second day, the Titans resumed their second innings on day-three in a bid to bat for as long as possible.
PJ Malan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HG-Kuhn-c1548 led their side towards 63, before Cape Cobras grabbed their first wicket of the day when the former was dismissed after having smashed 31 runs.
Kuhn, was then joined by JA Rudolph and the two batsmen continued the batting offence, without allowing the bowlers to make a comeback in the match.
This partnership between the two batsmen was instrumental in taking the score to 151, before Kuhn was trapped in front of stumps after having smashed a magnificent innings of 84 runs.
JA Rudolph and M Mosehle then forged another commendable partnership, taking the score to 209, as they smashed the bowlers all around the park without any remorse. M Mosehle, then became the fifth wicket of the day, perishing after bolstering 29 runs.
D Wiese was unlucky as he was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Robert-Cowdrey-c60631 Zyl after scoring only 17 runs, leaving his team on 239.
With their top order annihilated by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/J-Louw-c64908, who took five wickets, BE Hendricks was not cutting them any slack either as things were becoming extremely difficult for the batsmen with the boundaries drying out.
Hendricks finished with four wickets to his name, as Titans crumbled after posting 301 runs by the end of their innings.
Requiring just 18 runs to win, it was a walk in the park for Cape Cobras as they reached the target in 4.2 overs without losing a wicket.
