Cape Coral for slain cop?

I'm trying to help organize a fundraiser in Cape Coral, FL for Andrew Widman, an officer who was gunned down in the line of duty last week. All the money will be given to his widow and three children.

I have the idea -- a car wash, with all proceeds going to a bank account in his name.

I have the place -- Auto Zone on Del Prado in Cape Coral is donating some car washing supplies.

I just need a few more volunteers and some publicity.

What can I do to attract more people to this event, so I can raise money for this man's family?

I think it is awful that a young officer was shot in the line of duty, however I don't think that most people are aware that police officer's families are taken care of if they are killed in the line of duty, they get work comp benefits, police pension and social security for the children.  However continue to do your fund raising, it it always a good thing to do when the families are devastated to know there is a lot of community caring.

Contact NBC 2. They would probably announce it on the news. I know that they have been letting people know where they can go and donate.
