Cape Rascal, a bright possibility for the William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes on 22nd February
The Grade A2 William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes raced over 480 metres is to be held on Wednesday, 22nd February at Newcastle. The £112 prize money is for the winner among the lineup of six contesting for the title.
The three-year-old Cape Rascal, Kinloch Brae’s black son out of b***h Fairest Fancy, is trained by A. Dawson. He recorded his seasonal debut victory through the second start of the season.
On 11th January Cape Rascal won the William Hill – The Home Of Betting at Newcastle, it was raced over 480 metres which he covered in 29.49 seconds, leading by 1 ¾ lengths. He claimed the £111 prize money.
The 5/2 favourite for the race, Forever After, finished fourth on the lineup of six.
After finishing fifth in the race in between, Cape Rascal won the Grade A2 William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes on 21st January At Newcastle.
He covered the 480 metres distance in 29.18 seconds, leading by 1 ¾ lengths and was through the wire before the 5/2 favourite of the race, Droopys Vegas, who finished third in line after the winner.
The runner up of the race was S. Ray trained, Early Dollar.
Cape Rascal came fifth in his next four starts and was then positioned second in his recent two starts. He was entered as a 5/2 favourite on 18th February in the Grade A2 Williamhill.Com Stakes at Newcastle.
Today will be Cape Rascal’s eleventh start of the new season.
Canny Carlin, Ballymac Maeve’s two-year-old son out of b***h Canny Keepsake has been sent as a favourite in the last three races, all of them being the Grade A2 events.   
The 2/1 favourite in the Grade A2 William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes, he finished third after the winner, Best Action, over 480 metres.
Canny Carlin’s next start was in the Grade A2 William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes on 11th February. The 3/1 collective favourite, Canny Carlin, finished third while Mustang Alexis won the race and the third collective favourite, Droopys
Figaro, ended fourth.
Canny Carlin’s last start was on 16th February in the Williamhill.Com Stakes at Newcastle for which he was a 2/1 favourite, finishing fifth on a field of seven. This was third time in a row that Canny Carlin got entered as a favourite.
