Cape Rising likely to be dominant in Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre Handicap
Cape Rising is expected to be dominant in the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre Handicap at Haydock in England on Thursday, August 9, 2012. His owner, John Wills, will be eying to capture a cash prize of £4,205 from the class-4 event.
The going will be good in the 1 mile, 6 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 17:45 GMT. A total of nine contestants will be battling out for victory and the race will be an exciting one.
Looking at the overall performances of Cape Rising, it is evident that her rivals will have to work extremely hard in order to challenge her for victory. She has been delivering some decent results with consistency, which is a positive sign, thus the spectators
will be cheering for her today.
The young runner has been priced 11 to 4 by the bookies, considering the fact that she has been in excellent form during the 2012 season. It will be difficult for the punters to risk many bets against her, but they will definitely be taking a few chances
at the end of the day.
The five-year-old mare made her debut at Haydock in 2011, but she was unable to make a strong impression back then. The odds were against her, as there were some quality runners up against her. She has given a starting price of 50 to 1 and could only manage
the eighth place in the end.
However, things worked out well for the Alan Swinbank’s trainee in her next outing, as she finished as third. She gave a tough time to the front runners, which was an encouraging sign for her team.
In her final race of the 2011 season, Cape Rising made a strong impact, despite not getting the best odds by the bookmakers. She ran extremely well and gained a massive lead of five lengths before the end of the event.
Although, Cape Cross’ daughter did not start her 2012 campaign on a positive note, yet she made a strong comeback. She finished first in her most recent race, which also took place at Haydock, thus she will be full of confidence today. Robert Winston was
the jockey, who guided her to the top last time around and he will once again be partnering her at this venue.
