Cape Safari to pair up victories in the Totepool Mobile Text Tote To 89660 Handicap at Leicester
Taking part in the Class 5 Totepool Mobile Text Tote To 89660 Handicap is a line-up of eight three-year-olds. The race will be held at Leicester over a mile, three furlongs and 183 yards on Friday, 13th April. The purse for the race is set at
£2,588.
Cape Safari, Cape Cross’ three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Finnmark, has raced five times ever since the new season took off. Only her seasonal debut ended with a disturbing outcome however, after that she gained steady hold of the positions that never
went down the third mark.
Cape Safari’s seasonal start was in the FA Cup Betting At Bluesq.Com Maiden Stakes at Lingfield over a mile and two furlongs on 7th January. She parked sixth on the line-up of twelve.
The race was won by Ex Oriente and both the entries of Mark Johnston, Key Gold and Three Bards, finished one after the other, second and third.
The 3/1 favourite of the race, Josam, finished fourth in line behind the winner.
Cape Safari then scored second in the Bet Blue Square On Your Mobile Maiden Stakes on 31st January at Southwell over a mile. The race was won by the 7/2 favourite, Dubai Sunshine, who was ridden by Hayley Turner. Cape Safari had to compromise
with the victory by a three lengths’ gap.
Settling third behind the winner was Somerset Island.
On 23rd February, she got hold of the seasonal victory in the Southwell Golf Club Ladies Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Southwell over a mile. Riding with Martin Lane, she led the runner up of the race, Scatter Dice, by 1 ¼ lengths. Reserving the third
slot behind the winner was Gabrial’s Lexi.
Cape Safari lost the 32Red Handicap (London Mile Qualifier) on 22nd March at Kempton over a mile. She finished third behind the 11/8 joint favourite winner, Rio Grande and the joint favourite runner up, Titus Star.
Avenging the third position, Cape Safari won the 32Red.Com Handicap on 10th April at Southwell over a mile and four furlongs. Riding with Kieren Fallon, she shoved the 9/4 favourite of the race, Quixote, by two lengths.
Today she has the chance to pair up the victories by winning the sixth start of the new season.
