Capital Hills at Albany to host the Credit Union Challenge Tournament
The Credit Union Challenge, presented by SEFCU, Sunmark, and BFB Benefits, has been announced and will be played in Capital Hills at Albany from August 3rd to 5th.
Credit Union Challenge Tournament is an important tournament on the Symetra Tour and regularly attracts top talent for three days of great golf. This year, as usual, top players will compete for the prize money and some of the hopefuls will better their
chances of an LPGA card.
The golf course, Capital Hills is a splendid venue and a regular host of various golf events for professional and amateurs. Symetra Tour and Capital Hills at Albany go a long way back and this will be the 8th consecutive year that the golf course
is hosting the event.
Symetra Tour is a long standing tradition of the LPGA. It was imagined as a development tour, where players who showed promise as amateurs receive a taste of the pro golf.
The tour regularly offers places to top amateurs and players from 34 countries who take part in various tournaments hosted by the tour.
However, a shot at a place in LPGA is not the only attraction that will bring the top players to the Capital Hills golf course. Credit Union Challenge Tournament has announced a prize fund of $100,000.
This means that the players will receive a decent cheque if they manage to snag a good place in the final rankings.
According to many players who have played on the golf course, it is very challenging and requires careful planning. It is 6,400 yards long and includes many well placed traps and bunkers. It is a great place to test the talent of the LPGA hopefuls.
However, for the player emerging as number one, there are compensations to match the efforts expended on overcoming the course. A $15,000 prize and a high probability of making it into the LPGA are enough rewards for any player.
This year, almost 144 players will come to try their skills and luck at the Credit Union Challenge Tournament. This is an important event and the winner is well received in the Symetra Tour circles.
